Different Surface Finishes:
1. Bright Annealed (BA): This is a smooth, bright, reflective finish achieved by annealing in a protective atmosphere. It is the standard finish for many pharmaceutical and high-purity applications.
2. Mechanical Polish (MP): This finish is achieved by mechanically grinding and polishing the tube surface. It is specified by the grit size of the abrasive used.
- 150-180 Grit: A general-purpose sanitary finish. The interior is typically mechanically polished to this level.
- 240-320 Grit: A finer finish used in applications requiring even lower surface roughness to prevent bacterial adhesion.
3. Electropolished (EP): This is an electrochemical process that removes a thin layer of material from the surface. It produces an ultrasmooth, non-stick, and highly passive surface. It offers the highest level of cleanability and corrosion resistance. Often applied after mechanical polishing.
